Wow what a day! We left Rockport at 6:00am with plenty of excitement and enthusiasm. Rose and John Williams were there as always cheering us on. We hit the big water at the Port Aransas Jetties and we were in rough territory to say the least. When you look at the sea data you will see 5 to 7 foot waves which really correlates to around 10 to 15 foot waves from top to bottom of the wave. We also had an out going tide which made things even dicier... add 20 knots of cold, cold wind and you have one heck of a day. This picture gives you an idea of how I felt. What a way to start a trip of a lifetime!
We started our night shifts and I was first up 9:00pm to 12:00am. Ray relieved me at midnight and plugged along until 3:00am. GMann pulled up the rear starting at 3:00am until 6:00am and then I was back in action. The guys were up and Adam around 8:00am
For Every day that is crazy we have many beautiful days. Things calmed down today and we are riding smooth as silk. We got some food in our tummies and everyone has a smile on their face.
Ray and GMann have everything under control!
